God Never Changes

Because GOD NEVER CHANGES,
I don't have to worry
about the future!

What a great God we have! We can trust Him not to turn against us, for His love is unchanging. We can trust Him for life after death, for He is eternal. That is why the writer of Hebrews could say, "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever."Bill Bright, Discover God

God's unchanging nature changed her...

She was 8 years old, and yet a burden of fear weighed heavily on her young shoulders. Life at home was turbulent and fragile. Every morning she expected to wake up and find her life falling apart. She feared it, and yet she couldn't stop it.

During one of her sporadic visits to church her Sunday school teacher talked about God's love. She said God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to pay for our sins and make a way for us to have a relationship with Him forever. The teacher went on to say God's love never changes, and neither does He.

The little 8-year-old's heart desperately wanted a relationship with a God who loved her that much--a love that she could count on to be the same yesterday, today and forever. That night, all by herself, she and God began a relationship. The burden lifted, and He wrapped her in His loving arms.

He never changed. After forty years, His love for her is still the same; His faithfulness is still the same; His power, mercy, truth, justice, presence, control, holiness and righteousness are still the same. He never changed when she doubted; He never changed when her faith soared. He never changed when her dreams shattered, and He never changed when they rose from the ashes. She could count on Him, no matter what, no matter where. He is still the same.

That little girl was me.

I thank God for the Sunday school teacher who showed me the way to Jesus and planted the seed of His unchanging nature in my heart all those years ago. May your children receive that same gift from you.
